Not even the people at his lunch table would talk or be near him. Ever since Jack punched Julian in the before the break they've been very distant, and almost none of the boys would talk to Jack. Obviously you can tell that this conflict is a man vs man conflict. society conflict.Īnother conflict is that somewhere in the book there will be a "boy war" between Julian, Jack, and August. He hasn't been to school in his life before because of his health and many surgeries. The main conflict of this book is August getting through an entire school year in the fifth grade.
